RCB Asked to Remove Encroachments
Sunday, the Station Commander of Rawalpindi, Brigadier General Ijaz Qamar Kiani, ordered the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) to remove encroachments along important highways.

During a visit to Saddar and other cantonment areas, the station commander, who is also the president of the RCB, requested that the board’s engineering division recarpet Convoy Road, Sher Khan Road, Octroi 22, and Kashmir Road.
Mr. Kiani also instructed employees to guarantee that all construction materials were of the highest quality, as they would be inspected and departmental action would be taken against erring officials.
In order to offer a better environment for inhabitants, the station commander requested that all roads, streets, and drains be cleared in the event of rain in the following week.

Later, he assessed building activity and the area’s cleanliness at various locations. He was dissatisfied with the encroachments along pathways and roadways in and around the Saddar neighborhood.
