Shibli Criticizes Locally Manufactured Vehicles of Poor Quality
Islamabad: After calling domestically produced ventilators useless, the Minister of Science and Technology, Senator Shibli Faraz, also argued that domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles do not meet international standards.

During a meeting with officials from the Pakistan Standards and Quality Authority (PSQCA), the minister felt that although the prices of domestic vehicles were steadily increasing, their quality was not up to global standards.
According to official sources, the minister, while referring to the inferior products produced in the country, said that although the price of domestic cars has skyrocketed, their level of safety and quality is far behind. products are available in the international market.
According to PAMA, archaic law grants immense powers to the PSQCA, where whims and arbitrariness prevail; therefore, it would be suicidal for the industry to accept such an unfair arrangement.

Last year, Pakistan, despite lacking the necessary facilities, applied international safety standards to ensure that domestically manufactured and assembled vehicles meet global standards.
