The Government of Sindh has announced a new phase of its Pink EV Scooter Scheme, aimed at improving mobility and transportation access for women across the province.
According to a statement from the Sindh Information Department, electric pink scooters will be distributed in Hyderabad on May 22 as part of the provincial government’s women-focused transport initiative.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon called the scheme a “revolutionary initiative,” stating that it is helping empower female students and working women by providing safer and more independent travel options.
The Pink EV Scooter Scheme is designed to offer women affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation. In addition to scooters, selected beneficiaries also receive driving training, helmets, and road safety awareness support.
The Sindh government has been expanding the program across multiple cities as part of broader efforts to modernize public transport. These initiatives also include the introduction of electric buses and the expansion of the Peoples Bus Service network throughout the province.
