The Sindh Police has announced plans to establish a dedicated aerial surveillance division aimed at strengthening security monitoring across the province, including urban centers, highways, railway tracks, and riverine areas.
The proposed unit will primarily use drones and other modern surveillance technologies, supported by specialized equipment and trained personnel. Officials said the initiative marks a shift toward more technology-driven policing to improve operational efficiency and situational awareness.
Authorities highlighted that aerial and digital surveillance systems are becoming increasingly important in modern law enforcement. They added that the new setup is expected to improve transparency, enhance coordination, and build greater public trust in policing.
According to officials, the system will help identify suspicious activities in real time and enable quicker response to potential threats, particularly in remote and sensitive regions where traditional monitoring is limited.
The initiative is also expected to support traffic management in busy urban areas, assist in crowd control during large public gatherings, and improve overall protection of citizens and property across Sindh.
