Sindh to Revive Three Major Sewage Treatment Plants
According to news sources, Murtaza Wahab, the Environment Advisor to the Chief Minister of Sindh, has announced the reopening of sewage treatment plants that had previously been inoperable in Karachi.
The facilities TP-I, TP-II, and TP-III, each with an installed capacity of 150 million gallons per day (mgd), will contribute to the reduction of marine pollution and the safe release of wastewater into the ocean.

The reactivation follows Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Murad Ali Shah’s announcement of the TP-4 waste treatment plant and Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) project for the Korangi Industrial Estate.
In addition, the advisor feels that rising global warming poses a threat to the survival of the globe and the ecosystem.
Additionally, he advised citizens to engage in eco-friendly waste management practises, such as reducing plastic rubbish. Mr. Wahab also highlighted the government’s attempts to reduce pollution by planting 50,000 plants throughout the city.

Previously, three wastewater treatment plants served the city’s growing population. However, the plants progressively ceased to operate, and their treatment capacity was reduced to nothing.
