Solar Rise in Demand As Pakistan Moves To Renewable Energy

Sales of solar modules to Pakistan for 2021 have reportedly reached 500MWp, according to LONGi Solar, a leading producer of high-efficiency mono-crystalline solar cells and modules with headquarters in China. The majority of the sales were made up of Hi-MO 5 series modules, which accounted for 422MWp (84.4%) of the total.
The business claimed in a tweet that it has landed a number of illustrious clients and projects in Pakistan, including a 70MWp contract from Reon Energy for Pakistan’s largest commercial solar project to date.

Using Hi-MO 5 540/545 Wp modules, the project will be finished in four clusters, with a commercial operation date of Q3 2021.
Among LONGi’s well-known clients in Pakistan are The Four Brothers Group, which has signed a 68MWp distribution agreement for orders to be finished in Q2 and Q3 2021, NMC Group, and numerous additional developers and installers of megawatt-level commercial projects. Several of these developers will make use of the Hi-MO 5 series of modules.
Pakistan had a 38,719MW total power generation capacity as of June 30, 2020. Solar PV accounted for 530MW, or 1.36 percent, of the capacity.
