Starlink to Open South Asia’s First Office in Pakistan
According to the most recent reports, a meeting was held in Islamabad between officials of Elon Musk’s broadband internet company and the Minister of Information Technology and Telecom, Syed Amin-ul-Haque, in an effort to open South Asia’s first Starlink office in Pakistan. It is important to note that Starlink, a satellite constellation owned and operated by SpaceX, will deliver satellite Internet services in Pakistan.

According to the reports, a Starlink delegation led by the director of the Middle East and Asia and the head of global site acquisition met with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officials in Islamabad to discuss the proposal.

The minister educated company representatives on Pakistan’s business outlook, teledensity, and policies regarding the ease of doing business there. Both parties highlighted the need to increase internet access in unserved communities in Pakistan. SapceX reportedly has an interest in building the Internet of Things and the Space of Things in Pakistan.
