Tenants Registration Made Mandatory in Lahore
According to news sources, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Additional Inspector General (AIG) of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, stated that it is vital for residents to register tenants in order to avoid dire situations such as unauthorised possession.

At the Capital City Police Headquarters, CCPO Ghulam Muhammad Dogar presided over a performance review meeting for the Anti Qabza Mafia Cell. In attendance were SSP Operations Ahsan Saif Ullah, all Divisional SSPs, SSP Discipline Nadeem Abbas, and members of allied departments including LDA, Overseas Pakistanis, Cooperative, and Revenue.
During the conference, AIG Dogar also stated that legal action will be taken against property owners and tenants who fail to register. Additionally, Lahore Police has implemented online tenant registration to facilitate the registration process.
In addition, he instructed officials to take severe action against illegal occupants and land thieves. In addition, he instructed the government to prioritise the poor and Pakistanis living abroad.

This year, Lahore Police reclaimed 360 properties with a total land area of 4,239 kanals and a value of PKR 53 billion. In addition, the Lahore police have established a hotline, number 1242, where residents can file complaints about illegal possession in their houses. The Anti Qabza Cell also accepts complaints from the populace.
