Timeline Shared for Intra District Peoples Bus Service Project
According to news sources, the Sindh government has provided a timeframe for transporting 250 buses to Karachi as part of the Sindh Intra District Peoples Bus Service initiative.

Sindh Transport Minister Syed Awais Qadir Shah revealed that a contract had been inked with the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), a national defense entity, to deliver the first shipment of 50 buses by the end of January 2022. He believed that the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) would provide public transportation services by February 2022.
According to the project specifications, NRTC will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and supply of buses and the construction, maintenance, and operation of bus terminals and depots. In the initial phase of the initiative, fifty buses would operate on Karachi’s roads. It was stated that the path from Nagan Chowrangi to Singer Chowrangi is 33 kilometers and that the route from Model Colony to Tower is 29.5 kilometers.

The remaining 200 buses will operate between Karachi and Larkana in the subsequent phase. The buses will operate on six distinct routes, covering a total distance of 10.3 kilometers, according to more information on the project.
In addition, Sindh Transport Minister Shah claimed that the government is committed to delivering efficient, safe, and convenient transportation in Sindh’s major cities. The SMTA has designed an integrated bus operations system to meet the need for public transportation in major cities, including Hyderabad, Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Karachi.
