UN, Balochistan to Cooperate on Province’s Climate Issues
Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, the Chief Minister (CM) of Balochistan, met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Pakistan, Julien Harneis, to discuss the province’s environmental difficulties, according to the most recent reports. According to the PM, the government is prepared to address the issues with the assistance of the United Nations and other international organizations (IOs).

According to Julien, the group is engaged in Pakistan-wide master planning for climate change mitigation and environmental restoration activities. This planning survey will take four months to complete and will provide a thorough picture of the province’s challenges. As part of the proposal, canals in four provincial districts, including Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Sohbatpur, and Jhal Magsi, will be improved.

The gathering also addressed the insufficient drainage systems of the four districts and urged for a plan to eliminate environmental and human life concerns. In addition, all parties agreed to continue their joint efforts to improve the provincial standard of living, including the development of a long-term planning framework.
