World Bank Approves $120 Million for Green Initiative
Islamabad: According to the Ministry of Climate Change, the World Bank (WB) has approved $120 million for the Prime Minister’s Green Stimulus Plan.

The news came after WB country director Najy Benhassine visited Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Thursday and conveyed the bank’s support to the green post-Covid-19 economic recovery initiative and afforestation and environment conservation activities.
This specifically refers to the green stimulus programme implemented by the climate change ministry as part of the prime minister’s Clean Green Pakistan agenda.

The PM’s aide explained the green stimulus plan and said it was started in April of last year to create green jobs for young people who had lost their jobs across a variety of industries owing to business closures and other pandemic-related economic activities.
In the meantime, both parties committed to work together to address the socioeconomic and global health impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and global warming.
