Automated System by PTA to Block Snatched, Stolen Smartphones
The Pakistan telecoms authority, better known as PTA, has implemented a new automated system that prohibits cellphones that are “stolen, stolen, or lost mobile phones.”

In this system, the user submits an application via the Lost and Stolen device system (LSDS), through which the IMEI (international mobile equipment identity) number of the mobile device is disabled within 24 hours “after appropriate verification is performed,” as stated by the PTA.
The PTA tweeted, “Upon successful registration of a blocking request, the complainant will receive a complaint reference number.” Blocking of IMEIs applications must be submitted to prevent data and mobile phone misuse.

In the event that the phone has been located, the same procedure should be used to unblock it: “during the registration of complaint, all mandatory details and the complaint reference number that they provided for blocking the mobile phone should be mentioned”
