Almost 2251 Acres Railways Land Rented out in 3 Years: Official
According to Pakistan Railways, the Railway Department has let out over 4,451 acres of property over the past three years to increase revenue and so make the department financially sustainable.
Land under the lease was discovered in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Quetta, Rawalpindi, and Sukkar, according to an official.

The official also disclosed the outlines of a proposal to commercialize 25 large Pakistan Railways properties through a public-private partnership. A statement of interest to hire the consultant, for this reason, was published in the newspapers a year ago, he added.
Also envisaged was the identification of 111 new commercial sites for commercial use through public-private collaboration during the second phase.
In response to a question, he stated that Pakistan Railways has decided to intensify its ongoing anti-encroachment operation against land settlers across the country in order to reclaim land from individuals, groups, and even businesses that have used it for decades for residential, commercial, and agricultural purposes.
During the current government’s tenure, PR has rescued over 478 acres of precious land worth billions of rupees from illegal squatters around the nation through its anti-encroachment activities.

He stated that the government was taking numerous measures to reclaim encroached land from land grabbers, including undertaking a comprehensive survey to identify encroached land occupied by individuals and illegally occupied by various government agencies. According to the official, First Information Reports (FIRs) are being submitted and cases are being registered and forwarded to the PR Judicial Magistrates for a swift trial.
He added that the issue of government departments and institutions illegally occupying and possessing Puerto Rico’s land had been brought to the attention of the relevant departments.
According to the official, PR had 167,690 acres of land across Pakistan, including 90,326 acres in Punjab, 39,428 acres in Sindh, 28,220 acres in Balochistan, and 9,708 acres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
