Anthropic has unveiled Claude Design, a new tool from its labs that enables users to create visual content such as designs, prototypes, presentations, and one-page documents using AI.

The platform is powered by Claude Opus 4.7, the company’s latest vision model, and is currently rolling out in research preview for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers, with access being gradually expanded.

Built for Designers and Non-Designers

According to Anthropic, Claude Design is designed to support both professional designers and non-design users. While experienced designers can use it to rapidly explore multiple concepts, beginners can generate visual content simply by describing their requirements.

Users start by entering prompts, after which Claude produces an initial design. This can then be refined through conversational feedback, inline comments, direct edits, or even custom adjustment sliders generated by the AI.

For teams, Claude can also integrate a company’s design system—ensuring outputs automatically follow brand guidelines such as colors, typography, and layout standards.

Key Use Cases

Anthropic says teams are already using Claude Design across a variety of workflows, including:

  • Interactive prototypes for testing and feedback
  • Wireframes and product mockups
  • Pitch decks and presentations
  • Marketing assets and landing pages
  • Social media visuals
  • Advanced prototypes using voice, video, 3D elements, and built-in AI tools

How It Works

During onboarding, Claude can analyze a company’s existing codebases and design files to build a consistent design system. Future projects automatically follow these predefined styles.

Users can begin projects through text prompts, uploaded files (such as DOCX, PPTX, or XLSX), or by connecting the tool directly to a codebase. A web capture feature also allows users to replicate visual elements from existing websites for more realistic prototypes.

Editing and Collaboration

Claude Design offers detailed editing tools, including inline commenting, direct text editing, and controls for adjusting layout, spacing, and colors. Users can also instruct Claude to apply changes across an entire project instantly.

The platform supports team collaboration, allowing projects to remain private, be shared via internal links, or opened for multi-user editing.

Export and Development Integration

Finished designs can be exported in multiple formats, including PDF, PPTX, standalone HTML, or to Canva.

For development workflows, Claude can package completed designs into a handoff bundle for Claude Code, simplifying the transition from design to implementation.

Availability

Claude Design is available to Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users, with usage counted against existing subscription limits. Additional usage can be purchased if needed.

For Enterprise customers, the feature is disabled by default and must be enabled by administrators within organizational settings.
