ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reported that it did not lease or rent out any plots designated for hotels or restaurants in Islamabad during the past five years, according to a written response submitted to the Senate by the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi provided the information in response to a question from Senator Haji Hidayatullah Khan, who sought details of the authority’s leasing activities involving hotel and restaurant sites in the federal capital.
According to the ministry’s reply, the CDA’s Directorate of Estate Management-II recorded no leasing or rental activity for plots designated for these purposes during the period under review.

The senator had requested information about the locations of such properties, the terms and conditions of lease agreements and the rental income received by the authority. However, the response did not identify any plots or provide details of agreements or revenue from these categories.
The disclosure offers a picture of the CDA’s reported leasing activity for hotel and restaurant plots over the five-year period. However, it does not provide further information about the availability of these sites, future leasing plans or the reasons behind the absence of recorded transactions.
The matter highlights the importance of transparency in the management of public land and the disclosure of information about government property agreements. Any future leasing activity in these categories would depend on the authority’s decisions and applicable procedures.
