Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said that “good news” regarding a possible reduction in petroleum product prices is expected soon.

Speaking to Geo News, he noted that the public has already been under financial pressure due to the Iran–US tensions, which had previously driven fuel prices upward and strained household budgets.

He added that international crude oil prices have now fallen to a three-month low in global markets. According to him, both this decline and expectations of Iranian crude returning to global supply are contributing to easing price pressures.

The minister also said there is a clear commitment, along with directives from the Prime Minister, to reduce fuel prices “as much as possible.”

He further stated that the international community is recognizing the efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in supporting regional stability.
