KP CM Approves Action Plan for Industrial Policy Implementation
Peshawar: According to news reports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan has approved the action plan for carrying out Industrial Policy 2020, which outlines methods to rehabilitate failing and abandoned enterprises.
This idea was given the go-ahead during a meeting presided over by KP CM. The ruling states that in order to improve company operations, the industries will receive subsidised loans, reliable power supplies, and transportation and communication infrastructures.

The establishment of the ten Industrial Zones promised by the Industrial Strategy 2020 within ten years was also decided at the meeting.
Little industrial parks at Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Dara Adman Khel, Shah-Kas, and Mardan were also said to receive the designation of SEZs (SEZs). According to the chief minister, the interim administration will see to it that businesses pay their employees the government-mandated minimum wage of PKR 21,000 per month.

In order to encourage industrialisation, Mr. Mahmood also gave the authorities the order to give No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to the industries within the specified time limit. He further added that locally produced electricity would be made available to the industries.
