The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has proposed increasing the minimum monthly wage by Rs. 5,000, raising it from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000 under the Budget 2026-27.
The proposal was presented by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during his budget speech in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Friday.

If approved, the revised minimum wage is expected to benefit low-income workers across the province and help offset rising household expenses and inflationary pressures.
The proposed increase is separate from the planned raise in salaries and pensions for provincial government employees. It will come into effect only after formal approval by the KP Assembly.
