LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has sealed 42 properties over unauthorised commercial activities and non-payment of commercialisation fees as part of its enforcement drive across Lahore.
Acting on the directions of LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, the authority’s Town Planning Wing carried out operations in Faisal Town, Shadman-I, Main Multan Road, and Defence Road. The action targeted buildings being used for commercial purposes without the required authorisation, as well as properties with outstanding commercial charges.

According to the details shared by the authority, LDA teams sealed 15 properties in Faisal Town and 12 in Shadman-I. Another 15 properties were sealed along Main Multan Road, from Thokar to Manga, and in the Defence Road area.
The affected properties included marquees, restaurants, marble stores, food outlets, private schools, workshops, showrooms, and offices. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Chief Town Planner-I Asad-uz-Zaman.

The LDA said enforcement measures against unauthorised commercial buildings and property owners who have defaulted on commercialisation fees would continue in line with the director general’s instructions.
The action highlights the authority’s ongoing efforts to regulate commercial land use and ensure compliance with applicable planning rules. Property owners operating businesses in residential or other regulated areas should verify the relevant approvals and commercialisation requirements to avoid enforcement action.
