Authorities have rolled out new steps to enhance transparency in matric practical examinations, placing a strict prohibition on the use of market-bought or externally prepared practical record books.

Chairman of the Task Force on Examinations, Muzammil Mahmood, has directed that marks will only be awarded to students who prepare their practical notebooks themselves.

He stated that examiners will closely review each candidate’s practical copy and match it with their handwriting to deter cheating and the submission of pre-written or fake records.

As per the revised guidelines, all checked practical notebooks will be destroyed after assessment to ensure they cannot be reused.

The chairman further cautioned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against officials if these instructions are not properly implemented.

These reforms are intended to strengthen the credibility of practical exams and close loopholes that previously allowed students to submit purchased or copied record books instead of original work.
