President Approves Public Property Ordinance 2021
According to media sources, Islamabad’s President Dr. Arif Alvi has passed the Public Land Ordinance 2021 to eradicate encroachment and illegal possession on state property. The executive order was issued pursuant to Article 89 of the Constitution.

The ordinance grants the competent officer the authority to issue a vacate order for illegally inhabited property. If the property is not cleared within the allotted time, the officer will have the authority to use force if necessary.
In addition, the Public Property Ordinance stipulates that the police will aid the administration in removing land thieves from government property. According to the regulation, the complete cost of encroachment removal would be recovered from illegal inhabitants, who will also be subject to fines and jail.

The decree further stipulated that President Alvi shall establish an applet tribunal in agreement with the chief justice. This organization will be responsible for handling issues pertaining to the seizure of state property and the removal of encroachments.
After Section 14 of the Act was changed, President Alvi also issued the Public Private Partnership Authority Ordinance of 2021.
