Progress Reviewed on Rawalpindi’s Ammar Chowk
According to news reports, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director General Nadeem Ahmad Abro visited the Ammar Chowk site and assessed the development progress of ongoing construction work.
According to reports, the Ammar Chowk project has been delayed for twelve years. It was disclosed that the Punjab government, with the assistance of RDA and Station Headquarters Rawalpindi, has resumed the project and that construction is currently underway.
The initial design of the project has been amended to include two additional underpasses, undergrounding of HT and LT cables, a new service line, and a strengthened earth panel to accommodate the city’s expanding population and traffic congestion. In addition, attempts have been made to make the surrounding area green and clean to accomplish Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.

Officials of the authority have announced that the project is anticipated to be finished prior to the beginning of 2022. Originally anticipated to cost PKR 754 million, the project would now cost PKR 1,307 million due to rising building material prices.
