LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved a new Green Industrial Economic Zone aimed at promoting industrial growth, attracting investment and creating employment while encouraging environmentally responsible development.
The initiative was approved during a provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The proposed zone is intended to provide businesses with a more organised environment for setting up industrial operations while reducing administrative delays.
Focus on Faster Approvals
Under the initiative, investors are expected to receive improved administrative support, including faster processing of required No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and other permissions.
The government believes streamlined procedures could improve the ease of doing business in Punjab and encourage both local and foreign companies to establish industrial operations in the province.
The Green Industrial Economic Zone will also promote industries that adopt cleaner production methods, efficient resource use and modern environmental standards.
