Quetta Collectorate Surpasses Custom Collection Target by FBR
According to a news report, the Model Customs Collectorate (Appraisal) in Quetta recently said that it had collected more money than the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had asked for.

According to the details, the FBR had set a goal of PKR 3.7 billion for the period from July to March of 2020-21. However, the Models Customs Collectorate beat the goal by 46%, bringing in PKR 5.4 billion in the first nine months of the fiscal year, with PKR 1.7 billion coming from just customs duty.
The goods were worth a total of PKR 9.41 million. They included 1,115 vehicles that didn’t have their customs fees paid, as well as 4 million litres of Iranian diesel/petrol. Tires, betel nuts, clothes, cigarettes, auto parts, electronics, and medicines worth billions of rupees were also taken away.

The officials said that the Collectorate is always keeping an eye on the situation to stop false declarations and make trade easier by cutting down the time it takes to clear goods. Also important is improving the system for dealing with complaints and making sure that decisions are made openly and based on merit.
