RS 68Bn Strategies Established to Generate Jobs in Tribals
Peshawar: To create jobs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s united tribal districts, the Planning and Development Department has developed ambitious plans worth Rs. 68 billion.

The Economic Development Plan (EDP) will focus on bolstering the business, mines and minerals, small and medium industrial, skills development, tourism, agribusiness, and green economics sectors in order to create jobs in tribal communities.
The plan allots Rs. 28 billion for the skill-building of tribal district citizens. 18 billion rupees of the cash would be used for short-term initiatives, and 10 billion rupees for long-term ones.
The agriculture sector would get more than Rs. 14 billion, including more than Rs. 1 billion for short-term initiatives and Rs. 12 billion for long-term ones.
Long-term tourist projects will receive a total of Rs. 8 billion, followed by Rs. 7 billion for SME initiatives, Rs. 4 billion for mineral projects, Rs. 4 billion for agribusiness, and Rs. 1 billion for forestry.

In the green economic sectors, over 12,000 acres of waste land have been turned into viable agricultural land, over 400 fish farms have been established, and soil and water conservation have all been planned across tribal areas.
