RS 6.9b KDA Budget for FY 2021-22 Approved
Karachi: The governing body of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) approved the authority’s budget for fiscal year 2021-22, which totals Rs 6,918 billion.
Section 27 of the KDA Order of 1957 authorised the budget. It also approved its implementation with retroactive effect beginning on July 1, 2021.

The budget was approved during a meeting held in the lecture room of the Civic Centre. Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, who is also the head of the KDA’s governing board, presided over the meeting.
Other attendees included Local Government Secretary Syed Najam Shah, MPA Shamim Mumtaz, KDA Director General Nasir Abbas Soomro, and MPA Shamim Mumtaz.
The meeting accepted the KDA budget for the new fiscal year 2021-22 in the amount of Rs6.918bn, as well as the revised budget for the year 2020-21 in the amount of Rs6.605bn.

On four parcels of KDA land comprising 20,900 square yards in Surjani Town, the minister for local government stated that a public housing scheme should be developed through a public-private partnership.
He stated that work on the KDA plan should be expedited and guaranteed the complete participation of the Sindh government.
