Uganda’s army chief Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made several unusual posts on social media that have caused controversy.
In 2022, he reportedly said he wanted to marry Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Some reports said he even joked about giving “100 Ankole cows” in exchange for marriage, and he also made other strong and threatening-style comments about Italy.
These posts caused a lot of criticism. Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni later said that his son’s personal comments do not represent the government or the army.
In the same year, Muhoozi also made controversial comments about Kenya, which led to public backlash and official explanations.
Recently, similar posts linked to him have been shared online again. These include claims that he wanted to marry a woman from Turkey.
Because these comments involve famous leaders and unusual statements, they continue to get attention and debate online.
