KARACHI: The upgrade work on University Road in Karachi has entered its final stage, with the Sindh government expecting the project to be completed within the next two months.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced the expected completion timeline while speaking at the inauguration of the Mosamiyat Flyover. The event was attended by Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani and Karachi Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad.

Memon said construction activities on University Road were nearing completion. He stated that the remaining work is expected to be finished within two months.

The University Road work is part of wider infrastructure improvements in Karachi. The project is aimed at improving road conditions and supporting smoother movement along an important urban corridor.

The inauguration of the Mosamiyat Flyover was also linked to the ongoing Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. Memon said the flyover would be opened for public traffic after the completion of the remaining formalities.

He also said construction of Red Line stations and other related components was continuing. The flyover is expected to provide an additional route for motorists around the Mosamiyat intersection.

Memon acknowledged that the Red Line project and related infrastructure work had faced delays. He attributed some of the difficulties to increases in the prices of the dollar, cement, and petrol.

Despite these challenges, he said construction activities had continued. The latest update indicates that work on University Road and associated infrastructure is moving toward completion.

The final completion timeline will depend on the progress of remaining construction and related formalities.
