ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has committed to allotting disputed plots to affected landowners through NADRA e-balloting within one month, according to a statement submitted by a CDA Member (Estate) to the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The official informed the court that irregularities had been identified in plot allotments made to landowners eligible for rehabilitation benefits. The cases have reportedly been finalised, and the authority plans to use a computerised balloting process to allocate the relevant plots.

However, the statement confirms a planned course of action rather than completed allotments. The CDA has not announced a balloting date, the number of plots involved or the sectors where the plots are located.

The use of NADRA e-balloting is intended to support a computerised allocation process. Further details are still needed about eligibility requirements, the procedure for resolving outstanding claims and the publication of balloting results.

The matter has been discussed during court proceedings, which also included issues concerning an official’s absence from an earlier hearing. The available information does not establish the outcome of the related contempt proceedings.

Affected landowners should keep their ownership and rehabilitation claim documents ready and monitor official CDA notices for the balloting schedule and eligibility details. Prospective buyers should verify allotment records directly with the authority before entering into transactions involving disputed plots.

The next key development will be confirmation of the balloting date and publication of the allocation results within the stated one-month period.
